understanding the user
As part of the project’s discovery, we conducted 36 research interviews with individuals who wanted to quit smoking or maintain a smoke-free lifestyle. A mix of ages and genders participated in the co-design sessions and helping to steer the app’s functionality.

a custom quit journey
Focus groups were asked to order their goals to help gauge their preferred quit smoking journey. These interviews helping to inform the development of personalised interventions within the app.
small steps, big changes!
Alongside NRT, research was conducted to identify other appropriate behavioural change strategies.
Several approaches, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), habit reversal training and social support were identified as being useful. We ended up opting for a combination of the above, with an emphasis on Dr. BJ Fogg’s thesis on ‘Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything’, which explores how to make lasting changes by starting small and celebrating wins along the way.

UX
Full user flows and copy correct wireframes were required and created for each sprint.

UI
All views and components were designed and packaged for the in-house development team.
