animation
With the advent of AI image generation like Stable Diffusion and MidJourney, people have started experimenting with its use in video creation. However, while there have been significant advances in image generation, video has struggled to keep up and has often retained a dream-like, hazy style.

consistent characters
Another challenge is achieving consistency with AI-generated characters. Production studio Corridor Crew has successfully created a pipeline that incorporates an actor as part of the AI’s training data, resulting in a pretty smooth anime style. Just think how powerful this can be for smaller independent productions.
user interface
Although as product designers we’re probably safe for a minute, there have been some impressive services pop up. Companies like Galileo promise to generate UI design, which could help smaller businesses get quickly off the ground or perhaps assist and speed-up existing design workflows.
3D
materials
The community has been hard at work building AI plugins for Blender. One useful plugin and website is the materials generator, which saves a shit ton of time and effort.
character animation
Although the amount of AI used in Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman Animator wasn’t stated we know MetaHuman does use it so I wanted to include this very impressive presentation showing how anyone with an iPhone can capture live performances and apply them to MetaHuman models — breathtaking stuff!
game level design
Unreal Engine keep delivering and here they have again for level designers. In this equally impressive presentation, we’re shown how AI can assist in the generation of procedural landscapes that can be fine-tuned for a game’s individual needs.
to conclude
Recent developments with AI generated image, video and 3D assets from companies like Stable Diffusion, MidJourney and Unreal Engine have shown impressive grounds covered in relatively short periods of time. Further advances are progressing at a telescopic rate, with new and exiting uses of the technology appearing daily. I think it’s safe to say at the moment most creative jobs will be aided rather than replaced in the foreseeable future. I don’t doubt for a second that AI will not only be with us for a long to come but will also impress and surpass us in many creative fields.
