Here is a quick list of the films I’m most looking forward to seeing this summer.
1. The Dark Knight Rises
Being the serious fan boy I am for both Batman and Christopher Nolan’s adaptation, The Dark Knight Rises obviously makes top spot. It’s Nolan’s last depiction and I’m sure he’s not about to disappoint!
Directed by : Christopher Nolan
Out : 20th July
2. Prometheus
Featured all ready this month this is seriously one not to miss. Nuff said.
Directed by : Rigley Scott
Out : 1st June
3. Total Recall
Making it in to the top three (just) is the remake of on of my childhood favs. I’ve stayed pretty in the dark about this film – haven’t even watched the trailer, mostly because I’m scared this cheesy classic will be ruined with modern day terrible acting. I know, I know, the acting was terrible back then too – but for some reason it’s appreciated. It’s probably because that is where the cheese was grown and matured… and TBH that really is where it should stay.
Directed by : Len Wiseman
Out : 22nd August
4. The Dictator
When it comes to Sacha Baron Cohen you either love him or hate him. Myself, a little bit of both. Always was a big fan of the Ali G days and even today I still find myself cracking the same tedious jokes he coined way back then. Anyways his new film is out soon and I’ve got my ticket – we’ll see soon enough how far he manages to push cinema and it’s consumers this time.
Directed by : Larry Charles
Out : 16th May
5. Looper
This one has me eager on the storyline more so than the trailer this time. Another time travelling film, this time sees assignation targets sent back from the future to the present where our lead Joseph Gordon-Levitt is an assassin waiting to finish the job. However one day his self turns up… I suppose the rest is the film – sold.
Directed by : Rian Johnson
Out : 28th September
